Why hire a marquee?

Hiring a marquee is a great solution for the venue for your event whether it is for a party, a birthday, a wedding or a corporate event. When planning your event one of the most important things to decide is where the venue will be, you may have ideas such as a hiring hall, the local pub in the dance hall, or if you a business you could use your meeting room for example. All of which are great ideas and I’m sure would make for excellent venues but why not think about hiring a marquee.

Marquees have come along way they are no longer the basic tent that are cold and damp they used to be, they have turned into magnificent marquees which if decorated properly can turn a bog standard event into a fairytale ball.

Some tips and advice to consider when hiring your marquee

Hiring a marquee can feel quite daunting especially if you have never hired one before. There are many to choose from different shapes, sizes, different marquee hire companies, different locations, different venues, and so on and so on. Keep these tips in mind when hiring your marquee:

1) Keep to your marquee budget – when hiring your marquee one of the things to always keep in mind is your budget. It may sound obvious but in all the excitement of looking at the different styles of marquees you can easily forget that you have a budget to keep to and at the end of it all you could be left with a huge bill. Remember when hiring your marquee that it is not only the marquee you need to hire but factor in all costs such as flooring, tables, chairs, glasses, cutlery, and caterers.

2) Research before you talk to the marquee hires company – it is a good idea to research what kind of marquee you want before talking to the marquee hire company. You can go online and go through hundreds and thousands of pictures and descriptions, look through magazines and papers, and speak to people who have hired one before. You can take all your leaflets and magazines to the marquee hire company and show them what it is you have in mind so they have a better idea of how to help you.

3) Time is of the essence – this may not be possible but if it is then you’ll need to book your marquee quite a few months in advance before your event, especially if it is the summer season. Marquees do get booked months in advance and so it is essential to book in plenty of time as otherwise the choice of the marquees will be sparse and you may not be able to book one for your desired date.
