Top Asked Marquee Hire Questions and Answers

If you have never hired a marquee before you will probably have many questions about which marquee is best for you and how you go about hiring one. Here are some of the top most frequently asked questions when it comes to hiring marquees and an indication of some answers. Some of the answers depend on the marquee hire company and so can differ slightly.

What size of marquee do I need?

The size of the marquee you should hire for your event depends on the size of your party, or intended party. Many marquee hire companies will give an approximate guide for their marquee sizes for example:
28ft X 38ft marquee (up to 80 seated and 100 standing)
28ft X 28ft marquee (up to 40 seated and 54 standing)
20ft X 30ft marquee (up to 48 seated and 60 standing)
20ft X 20ft 24 marquee (up to 24 seated and 32 standing)

Can I have a dance floor within the marquee?

Yes. Another aspect to think about when it comes to the size of your marquee is whether or not you are wanting to include a dance floor, and a space for the band / DJ. There are many different shapes and sizes of marquees to choose from and so it is best to have a check list of all your requirements to make sure they are all met. Once you have chosen the size of your marquee hire you can decide how the seating is laid out and where the dance floor is and so on.

What kind of flooring do I need for my marquee hire?

Carpeting is usually recommended for the flooring of the marquee hire but it is not required. Carpet is nice because it adds a bit of comfort and luxury to your marquee, also adding a bit of warmth.

Will my guests be warm enough in a marquee?

Marquees are great because you don’t need the weather to be scorching hot. Of course it would be nice if the weather on the day is nice and warm and dry but it is not essential. With the use of carpeting the floor and using indoor heaters your guests will be very comfortable and warm within the marquee. Marquee hire companies usually only operate through the hotter months of the year such as April through to early October.
