Helen and David’s Festival Themed Wedding

Helen and David’s Festival Themed Wedding

This fabulous festival wedding was the first large wedding we have had at Oak Tree Farm since 2019 – and what a day it was!

Helen and David were able to have 200 guests at this wedding which made the most of the space we can offer here. The wedding ceremony itself was held outdoors with guests sitting on a mixture of chairs and straw bales. Our elegant marquees provided the space for the informal reception of street food providers, including Lodge Farm Rare Breeds Hog Roast,  and drinks from York Gin and Crooked Tap. On a warm day the guests were able to use the marquees as welcome shade – the open sides meaning that there was plenty of air circulating through the marquee.

Festival Theme

We have so much space here at the farm that the couple could really go to town with their festival theme. Live bands performed on the main stage and if that wasn’t enough entertainment for the guests, they could also enjoy some fairground rides and roaming magicians.

There was even camping, with Blossom and Blush Bell Tents provided for overnight accommodation. We have our own posh toilets available at our wedding venue, but due to the numbers of guests extra loos were supplied by  The Convenience Company The only festival experience missing was the mud!

If you want to see more of this stunning wedding it was recorded by Firecracker Films to be shown later in the year on the W Channel.  It is part of a series of documentaries presented by Emma Willis following the lives of people who have set up a business during the lockdown. Helen and David started their business HD Adventure in the Old School House at Robin Hood’s Bay.

Weddings are back

Over the summers of 2020 and early 2021 we were able to hire out marquees for small events and to host small weddings here. With restrictions lifting it was an absolute delight to have a large wedding and all the excitement that goes with it.

We still have some space for weddings this summer and are now taking bookings for 2022 and 2023, contact us now
