Wedding Trends of 2017

Wedding Trends of 2017

There has been many weddings under our canvases this year – some in our very own venue at Marston Moor Marquees, while others have taken place throughout the region.

The DIY wedding has been a massive trend over the last few years and that has continued into 2015, but we have also seen a black-tie comeback with couples going for a more formal style.

Here are just a few of the beautiful wedding themes we have seen this year.

The rustic wedding

Full of pastel colours, hay bales and relaxed atmosphere – the rustic wedding was popular amongst our customers in 2015. Our beautiful trapeze marquees lent themselves well to this type of wedding, with couples able to decorate with low-handing banners, pompoms, flowers and fairy lights.

Our marquees look especially good at night with the fairy lights twinkling in the dark.

The black tie event

Traditional weddings have certainly been less popular over the last few years, with couples keen for a more informal day. However we have had a few brides and grooms this year who have gone all out for their big day – with champagne towers, black tie dress code and elegant décor a must.

This romantic, sophisticated wedding will be popular next year as well.

Food taking centre stage

We have been at weddings this year that have felt more like festivals with live music and food trucks offer guests a different experience.

The party is an important part of the day, but so is the food and there is more emphasis is being put on that area with each passing year. The smells off the food trucks certainly had the Marston Moor team hungry when they arrived back at HQ.
